CalMax--- an unpretty story.

Sucker that I can be, I decided to try this miracle Cal Mag powder mix. It seemed to have good ratios and I do take a Cal Mag suppliment from time to time. WEELLL.... I attempted all troubleshooting and gradual introduction techniques I was aware of and this stuff was massively (a VERY key word) mean to my lower GI tract.

Gross subject, but a lesson in stick with what you can tolerate.

I hope if there are lovers of this stuff it works great for them, as for me, well... 'nuf said.

I take yummy candy-like strawberry cream calciums. Don't want to use pills because they're too big to swallow. A powder *sounds* like a good idea anyway. Was it just too much magnesium do you think?

So true.
The pills I tolerate are a real struggle to get down without risking a good chance at choking. All of those Cal Mag mix pills seem to be huge.

I did like the fact it was a powder and while not delicious, it wasn't too bad tastewise.

I do think it was the Mag. I've had a little trouble with the lower GI tract and Mag before but NOTHING like with the CalMax. Maybe the powdered form made for too much of a direct action on the body part where it caused me a problem. I tried lowering the amount, assuring food eaten when taken... nothing really helped.

I'm back to choke pills... sigh.

I can't take calcium/magnesium pills either. Either the calcium, magnesium, or both gives me terrible headaches. Not to mention the anxiety I feel every time I try to choke those things down. I take a chewable multivitamin, and that's it.
