Hi all,
I am on 30mg of Paxil (and have been for about 4 months), which is very very effective at lifting my mood.
The only problem is that I am pretty darn tired! Kind of lethargic in a different sort of way from when I was depressed. It isn't all the time, some days I feel OK.
I can still function and hold down a job etc but it feels like my get up and go (from pre-depression) has got up and gone!
I am reluctant to switch a-d's because I tried about 7 or 8 before I found such success with Paxil.
Can anyone offer any suggestions for supplements that are safe to take that may help?
Lots of love
Starflower

Starflower,
I can only provide some anecdotal information based on my experience. In terms of basic nutrients, I would make sure you are taking a good dose of B-complex with folic acid & C to help with energy levels. You may also want to add in acetyl-l-tyrosine (I like Source Naturals) on an empty stomach to provide support for dopamine. I find that fish oil really helps in this area too. Then sometimes I rely on NADH and/or Rhodiola if I am really dragging and want something fairly quick acting. SSRI's overall tend to be stimulating for me so I have to be careful when augmenting them with other activating type supplements. And it goes without saying, different people get different effects from pharmaceuticals and over the counter supplements.

Thanks Jake, this is really useful. I've upped my vit C intake and that is helping, but will investigate other things too.
Other SSRIs have been activating for me too, oh well, it's a funny old game!
Thanks for replying
