l-theanine supplements or green tea extract? It gave me a boost ( the tea that is ). Taking the extract might work even better for depression.
Polyphenol blocks the dopamine transporter and theanine blocks the glutamate transporter. Both of these are found in green tea. Theanine also has effects on serotonin levels.

We've had some earlier threads here on green tea if you care to do a search. There's a way it impacts norepinephrine as well though I don't remember the exact mechanism. Several people have reported getting good results from using it in bulk form. In case you don't know you can puchase it in bulk at a good price (I think you can get both caffeinated and decaf versions) through BeyondACentury.com.K
