DMAE to counter anticholinergic effects of meds?

Posted by KaraS on November 13, 2004, at 16:46:14

I used to take a small amount of a sedating TCA for sleep. I hated the grogginess and the anticholinergic effects. Fortunately, I haven't needed to take this for a while but I may need to take it in the near future (if more natural means aren't effective enough). The grogginess is probably more a function of their antihistaminic effects but the brain-dead, not being able to think clearly feeling in the morning was probably the result of the anticholinergic effects.

I'm wondering if I took DMAE or extra choline in the morning whether it might offset the anticholinergic effect. What do you think?
Also, I wonder if there's a way to offset the antihistaminic effect in the AM? That would be really tricky though since I have a problem with allergies to begin with.
