It should. But not as much as L-phenylalanine, which would also be less than by tyrosine.

Larry,
I am relatively new to the boards. Could you tell me if DL-Phenylalanine can cause anxiety, or worsen a an anxiety disorder? I am wanting to start taking a natural supplement (Be Calm'd) along with my antidepressant (Celexa). It contains 300 mg of DL-Phenylalanine in each capsule (along with other aminos, including minimal amounts of 5-HTP, L-Glutamine). I am nervous about the DL-phenylalanine because I became very agitated and hyper on L-Tyrosine (started with 500 mg, three times a day, down to twice a day and then once a day, over a two week period). When I used the L-Tyrosine, I was on Effexor which could explain the reaction I had. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
