I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me out. I feel like I've been slamming benzos!
I went a little crazy on i-herb, trying to stock up and save on shipping. Once I got the stuff, I decided to take it slow and figured that taking a "multiple brain supplement" (I got Source Naturals' "Higher Minde") was probably expensive and less effective than starting slow with amino acids and individual supplements. There goes 30 bucks! I took one yesterday and then decided to stop. Other than that, here's what I'm taking currently...I've only been doing this a few days:
Nutritional yeast powder (only 1 tablespoon right now -- the serving size is 2)
Solgar Formula VM-75 multiple-vitamin supplement
Flax meal
650 mg scoop of TMG
NADH 5 mg
I'm also taking 200 mg of Provigil a day and am in the process of withdrawing from Effexor, which, strangely, has been very easy for me. I have a persistent headache and feel foggy, but I don't have any of the nightmarish symptoms other people get. Either it's the Provigil or I'm a really hardy specimen, as I've quit smoking in the past with not a single craving or cranky epidode.
I also have l-tryptophan powder on hand but haven't started it yet.
So...any suggestions as to why I'm feeling so doped up? Any suggestions as to how I should be taking these? Empty stomachs or with food? Together or separately? Thanks! Sorry to be so long-winded!
Zefdie
FYI: I have anergic depression with ZERO motivation and a heavy dose of attention difficulty.

Zefdie,
It's been a few days since you posted this message. How are you doing now? I can't imagine that the supplements you are taking are causing you to feel so fatigued and brain dead. I have similar issues and have reacted paradoxically to things that are supposed to be energizing but I still can't imagine that the supplements you are taking could cause your symptoms. My guess would be that the Effexor withdrawal and/or the Provigil are responsible. I have been withdrawing from Effexor also and it can have many bad side effects. Have you tried stabilizing on it and then stopping the Provigil so you could see if the latter were responsible for your side effects? Provigil made me feel like me limbs were covered in cement so maybe it can also make you feel spaced-out and tired.
Of course the only way to find out for certain is to eliminate things you are taking one at a time and control for the response.
Good luck. I sympathize with your efforts to get more energy. I know too well how discouraging it is to spend a lot of money and time and feel worse off than when you started!
