Hi All,
I'm trying to keep plugging along with SJW. It's been a little over 2 weeks. I'm seeing no lessening of depression yet and I'm getting desperate. I'm simultaneously very anxious and a little jittery, and sluggish and apathetic to the point of being unable to do much of anything at all.
I've added SAM-e to see if I can get some improvement. This is the third day. 2 days at 200 mg and then 400 today. I was wondering how many weeks it has taken people to see an improvement from SAM-e.
Thanks,
Emme

Hello -
From what I understand it takes a minimum of two weeks. I'm presently trying my second round with Sam-e as a supplement to my prescribed medications.
The first time around I took it for about a month and a half with no reponse. Now that my prescribed med's have changed and I'm getting a better response, I've added it back again. I've been taking 400 mg in the am for about 15 days.
To tell you the truth, my mood has been bouncing up and down at bit (not to mania - just somewhere between depressed and not to badly depressed). Hopefully a little time will show more improvement.
Good Luck!

>Thanks Charm,
I'm on my fifth day. It seems to be helping my mood - either that or it's coincidence. However, I don't feel that well on it. It's kinda stimulating, which is good in one way. But it feels tiring. I think I may cut the 200 mg tabs in half.
