I wish that the NIMH or the FDA would start treating "natural" treatments for depression and anxiety as legitimate and form a department dedicated to doing clinical trials on them. It's high time for science to lose its pro-pharmaceutical, anti-organic bias. Does anyone know if there are people in Washington D.C. lobbying for such an organization? Has anyone on these boards tried to write letters to their congresspeople, the NIMH, or the FDA about this issue? I'd be curious to know.

The NIH introduced a department for the study of alternative medicine in 1992. They did some studies of St. John's Wort.http://nccam.nih.gov/health/stjohnswort/
