It seems there is a subgroup of us here who react, in some way, poorly to B vitamins. Most problematic appear to be B6. The symptoms include nausea, fatigue, and maybe dizziness. Can anyone throw out any theories as to why these occur? One might be too much serotonin in the gut for the nausea. Another might be too much serotonin in the brain for the fatigue, but its not consistant with any serotonin syndrome that an SSRI might cause. Yet another is that this: although i cannot say im any expert on this stuff, ive read that when the body is unable to convert much tryptophan to 5-HTP (just as a random example), some byproducts tend to form as tryptophan gets shunted and processed down an alternate pathway. Maybe this alternate pathway is what causes problems? Maybe B6 interacts to form too much of an out of place neurotransmitters...
I don't know. I do have problems w. B vits too, just like others on this board. Any comments, ideas, theories are welcome. It would be nice to know more about why these problems exist. I suspect they might play a decent role in some people's mental illness.

It was interesting to read. I get the nervous energy when I take too much vitamin B's, especially B12. Although according to what I just read it said that someone with iron overload would do go on extra vitamin B. I have hemochromatosis, so I found that quite interesting.
Thanks again.
