Just a tiny defect in calcium regulation inside a brain cell can result in massive disruptions in brain cell function.Protien Kinase C is an enzyme that is activated by calcium and it controls brain chemical release.Brain cell kindling is the result of calcium disregulation.A brain cell is stimulated and then it just fires and fires without shutting off.Lithium and fish oil inhibit PKC.They stop kindling and restore calcium homeostatsis.Kindling is seen in oCd,Panic and mania.Damage to brain cells or a genetic defect can cause kindling.Sometimes cells just fire on there on.Strep throat can cause overnite OCD.Ocd looks to be damage to the caudate.Drug use can damage brain cells and cause mental illness.Animal brains can be damaged and result in mania.Anything that stops braincell kindling stops mental illness.One defective enzyme may cause mania.Fish oil,magnesium and lithium can inhibit this enzyme.
