I've read old Michael Bell's posts that L-Theanine gave him signs of tachycardia. From the information I've gathered - the mechanism of action of l-theanine doesn't involve release of dopamine/norepinephrine, actually it does the opposite - it increases dopamine, which has been verified by few studies, and supposedly it raises GABA levels (many websites selling it, and making praises about it - say that l-theanine increases GABA, although I couldn't find any studies on pubmed + theanine + GABA).
Well, I've got my social phobia/anxiety covered by Amisulpride (*FANTASTIC* medicine - I wish everyone could try it, although it is not THAT hard to import it to the US, you just need a valid RX shipped to an european country). I use Klonopin VERY rarely nowadays.
The reason I want to use L-Theanine is because L-Theanine is a natural glutamate NDMA receptor antagonist, the one that keeps opioid and amphetamine tolerance at check. But I won't use it if it causes additional tachycardia - I have enough of it from Adderall alone.(BTW: how much does your blood pressure and BPM levels jump after 45 mins of taking 20 or 30 mg Adderall? Mine goes from 120/80 @ 73 BPM to 140/90 @ 89 BPM)
I'd really like L-Theanine to not cause tachycardia because it is safe, seems effective on paper, has many health benefits and is not so expensive (powder from BAC). I was looking to lower my DXM intake to 30 mg and use Adderall with 100 mg L-Theanine, 400 mg Magnesium Glycinate and 30 mg of DXM. I'm still trying to acquire partial NDMA antagonist Acamprosate (Campral?). My intuition lol tells me that this is the best of all medicines to combat opioid/amphetamine tolerance.
