Hi Roo,

well, I e-mailed the NeuroResearch web site...they e-mailed me 2 doctors somewhat near me...however, when I called them, one said he does not do that and the other said he really doesn't do it either....so it took the NeuroResearch folks a while to find me some new docs to try.....they just recently gave me 3 new names and tomorrow I will start calling them....I want to go to someone that really knows what they're doing and who is committed to the amino acid therapy.....I need someone who really knows and understands the NeuroResearch folks' program.....the program sure does sound good...testing and then balancing the neurotransmitter levels sounds good to me....I just don't want to go to some quack that doesn't know what he's doing........my goal is that hopefully I can lower my med doses.....you are still following that program right Roo? How often do you need to go? Will you likely take the aminos for life? Lastly, you do still say the program has worked well for you? Take care Roo!

Roo,

I called one of the doctors whose name I was given (he's not too far from me) and his receptionist is sending me some paper work to fill out and send back.....but she said it will likely be 6 weeks before I can see him! But she said that he does do that amino acid therapy and has other patients already going to him for that....so that's where I will no doubt go....but I'll have to wait about 6 weeks. Take care!

> Gosh, I don't know if I'll do anything for life...or at least say I will. I've got committment issues :-) I'll take them as long as they're helpful and as long as I can afford them.

> It's worked pretty well, but it's not perfect. Like now is a difficult time because I just lost my job. I'm really stressed. I might have to up my dose of conventional medicine just to be sure I don't "lose it". Stress can often push me over the edge. It might be okay for when life is stable. I'm a little worried about my mild bipolar tendencies. So far I've been able to stay off a mood stabilizer and just take a low dose antidepressant...and I felt my anxiety building with this situation. We will see. I'm still not sure how to handle it. Right now I'm watching carefully...Like I said, i'll probably up the AD dose a little....and if I have to, I'll take a mood stabilizer.
>
> So far the supplements have enabled me to take a low dose AD without TOO many problems...but I still struggle more than if I were on a solid conventional regimen. It's just a sacrifice I was willing to make I guess...taking just enough of something to hold myself together.

> Well I've probably rambled enough. Good Luck. How are you holding together on the lexapro (or is it celexa?).

>>>>>>>>> Hi Roo......are you still 'tweaking' your amino products? From reading their site, it seems that you still might need your treatment tweaked a bit.....is your doctor consulting w/ the NeuroResearch folks to get things 'just right'? Don't settle for not feeling better, make sure your doc is following their protocol. One thing I would prefer is if they used tryptophan rather than 5htp in their products...but as long as it works....hope you're well Roo!
