Someone help! I want to buy fish oil at lunchtime - they come in 1000mg capsules. How many mgs in a gram.

10 milligrams per centigram
10 centigrams per decigram
10 decigrams per gram1,000mg = 1 gram

Common terms are:
microgram: 1/1,000,000 of a gram, symbolized as µg, or mcg
miligram: 1/1,000 of a gram, mg
kilogram: 1,000 grams, kgThere are approximately 454 grams in a pound, and about 28 grams in an ounce.
If you ever have a problem converting units from one format to another, just go to Google (http://www.google.com), and in the very same search window you would use to surf the net, enter in your plain-language query....
e.g. grams in 3.5 ounces
It will give you the answer. It will also do other sorts of calculations.
