sure.

unless... it's (the URL/site) blocked by the gov't in certain countries where freedom is seriously curtailed, which could mean China, but I don't know the details. As long as someone has an internet connection and nothing blocking access, anyone anywhere can view any webpage that doesn't need a password... :-)

The internet is banned in China or just sites such as this? As ebay sells to China. Hence they buy over the internet? What types of sites are banned? I don't know? Phillipa

well, sort of...

i mean, firstly, how many people in the world don't speak english, rj? i mean sure, there are translation programes, but when was the last time you bothered with one?

secongly, how many people in the world have access to the internet (in a way that isn't extremely restricted for school, say, or with serious lack of privacy as in a public library?)

the significant majority of the world, i'd bet.

lots of the world has more pressing concerns. dehydration. aids. war. sh*t like that...

it is pretty freaking freaky how far we have come in such a short space of time. and i don't mean in the sense of 'advanced we have made' with any kind of 'and then we got better' thing in there...

i mean... how much things have changed. how many differences they are. how quickly they have happened. the potential impact of them...

that is what is freaky... the exponential increase in the impact of various things that we've done...

the ability to annihilate the planet. i mean... holy sh*t.

the ability to send someone to the moon ,i mean, htat is freaky impressive too for sure.

the amount o fcontrol (even if not foresight) we have over genetic modification... over... seeds... food... it's scary. trademarking food. selling hybrids incapable of sustaining future generations... that is what's happening with computers, too... the intentional ... short circuting? the intentional... locking people into ongoing costs... where the price / costs are set by...

...

????

???

indeed.

i don't think it is okay.

open source food??

ahahaha.

medicine?

technology.

my supervisor said: maybe it's a technology.

what does that mean. what are the features / functions of technologies?

and how is it that things like LaTeX are so very much better (which i have this genreal sense that they are)

?

i don't think the way the world is going is... good. for us, i mean. i do not think it is good for the majority of the current and future citizens of this world. which makes me feel... horrid, really.

(yet apparently i'm the anti-social one)
