Interesting Changes with Bob?

Posted by Moishe Pipik on December 18, 2013, at 12:43:03

I've noticed some subtle changes in Bob's responses of late. Seems that he's more closely examining the dynamics of, what I'll call the "insulter/insulted" phenomenon.

What has gone on for years on Babble reminds me of when I was raising my son. As any parent knows, kids argue (unfortunately, many of them learn it from parents who argue like children). Some parents end up refereeing full-time - it never stops. Other parents are smart enough to avoid the trap, and let the kids figure some stuff out on their own. I figured that as long as they weren't hitting, it was pretty much OK. My son (no siblings) and his friends were fine, and the smart parents weren't chronically engaged with the kids' squabbles.

Maybe Bob is looking at Babble dynamic in a similar way, and maybe he's effin tired of being a referee.

he's not going to be around forever. he's been trying (gradually gradually) to move the boards to increasing independence over the years.

As many from families would know, it is possible to have a dynamic of t*t for tat that is self generating and goes on forever. It can be vendetta. Certainly it can be boring.

Automatic asterixing to the rescue.

I WISH Dr Bob woould moderate the board in respect to Lou Pilders over posting and overperception of Anti Semitic Bias where there is none. I also find his use of nonsense words in posting lines distracting.

I am being told I am a week late with this. I am just another fed up voice.

Tam

Tam,
You wrote,[...Lou Pilders over posting and overperception of Anti Semitic Bias where there is none...].
I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean. If you could post answers to the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A. What constitutes, {over posting}?
B. What constitutes {overperception}?
C. What determines if there is anti-Semitic bias?
D. If this post is allowed to stand, does it show anti-Semitic bias?

Better late than never. Lou isn't over posting according to the definition in the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#three

What's distracting is in the eye of the beholder.

Say Poster X overperceived Anti X Bias. Would that make you feel fed up, too?

Bob
