Apparently most people want lots of followers. It's a public micro blogging site. The more followers the better.
I re-subscribed to your Twitter Dr. Bob. You probably don't tweet anything too personal there. I also saw some babblers following you so I assume it is OK to follow you too.
This is fun! I'm going to try to tweet interesting things Dr. Bob. I hope you follow my Twitter! I understand if you don't though since you are probably following lots of other people. That's OK. I sometimes pretend you read my posts here on Babble. That is sort of like tweeting!

I love Twitter! I love tweeting random things about my life and the things I'm interested in. If anyone wants to learn all about me they can just read my Twitter! I love having the whole world read my Twitter.
Let's all Twitter! Come follow my Twitter! It's fun!
Oh and follow Psycho-Babel too, it's fun!

I sharply keep discussions about my illness away from my "real persona" for a reason.I don't want an employer to Google myself to see just how "unstable" I might be.
There is still way too much stigma about mental illness today, even with the actions of NAMI, which floors me that I hear zilch about the organization here that attempts to carry the voice of the afflicted, the mentally ill.
Health coverage plans may be forced to provide some "mental illness" coverage today, but it is piddles compared to your lifetime cap on other truly similar medical illnesses like heart conditions or other things that may land one in a hospital.
Plus the whole factor of pre-existing conditions.
I know this divides widely away from the other discussion boards but I had to reply to this because... well at one point I did think of a blog that included my condition, but for stigma I never did that.I have lost many friends, mostly online acquaintances but some IRL as well, because nobody wants to hear "heavy talk".
Anyhow I've gone on enough about this subject. If people want to twitter that's fine, but please keep my semi-private (Google excepted unfortunately) life here and here only.

I've lost friendships, too. I console myself by saying something to myself about the friendship's depth or worth, but it still hurts--now, if I was looking for work--I would not tell a soul. I regret sometimes that I have signed a real name here and there only to find it attached to a google search.
This is the end of the thread.
