Toph>>> "You seem to describe rules as mores rather than written codes, am I right? "

<<<Rod: Suggested Guidelines... The distiction probably eliminates any chance of dictatorship... A social "more" implies absoluteness to some folks... I wait for any guidelines to earn and deserve my respect...

<<<Rod: Most important, I've found, recovery meetings are successful in direct proportion to the recovery "synergy" in the meetings... Dr-Bob let's "synergy" work its magic on the many boards herein... Sure, the deputies have emerged to keep the fabric of the different boards constant; trusted servants for Babble, and very similar to meeting chair-persons in 12 step circles... But each board itself has regulars that help keep it on track, seems to me...

<<<Rod: 12 step meetings are rigorous about blocking any vestige of authoritarianism... Meetings don't have a power-hierarchy, but rather (periodic) "trusted servants" that know how to keep things moving and on track... Believe it or not, the 1 dollar donation is arbitrary but very necessary when dealing with "tight-wad" landlords... Surprising to me how expensive a 90 minute meeting once per week can be... Now landlords require insurance, and sometimes utilities and key deposits, etc, etc, etc...

Thanks again for responding,

Rod

Bill figured out that it takes a village and a little devine intervention to have a fighting chance.
