To further quote from the FAQ about civility and how we express ourselves,

"Please respect the views of others even if you think they're wrong. Please be sensitive to their feelings even if yours are hurt. Different points of view are fine, and in fact encouraged, but your freedom of speech is limited here. It can be therapeutic to express yourself, but this isn't necessarily the place."

and,

"Different points of view are fine, but sometimes discussions just lead to discord and it may be best just not to respond."

Does that help?

Yes, thanks, Clearskies - I didn't know it was a direct quote. My apologies.

However, I have trouble understanding this quote within the PB guidelines....

"Please be sensitive to their feelings even if yours are hurt."

My observations of PB have lead me to the opinion (& perhaps falsely) that this is not the case when this idea of "mutual sensitivity" is transgressed via PBC's & blocks. It is equally ironic (on a site that deals with mental health) that honesty is not necessarily valued (as stated previously) as much as civility.

Limits are unfortunately necessary for administrative purposes, but we do try to be as sensitive as possible when enforcing them. And it's actually *because* this site deals with mental health that civility is valued so highly...
