You may all continue to call me Lurpsie, or something affectionate like that- a nickname that has been bestowed upon me by nice psycho-babblers :)
please do not call me by my previous posting name. That is not a nickname that has very good associations for me right now.
Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know who you are.
If you hadn't, I'd have wondered what happened to lurpsie. And worried. And been sad.

Change can be helpful and good, especially names, which can make powerful statements - even if only to ourselves - sometimes.
I see and appreciate your Umlaut.
how 'bout maybe 'Lindy" sometimes if I'm too lazy to type more....?
I looked up the translation.....but that's your choice to speak about or not, so I'll leave that alone. Mostly just what Mel said, is how I feel.

Lindy is good.
The Umlaut is good. It turns "blood" into "blossom"
And that's as far as the symbolism of the name will go for now.
10der. :)

What a cool name. Lime tree blood? There is nothing so beautiful to me as sung German, as long as I don't understand it.

***I do beleive it means lime tree blossom.
Cuz of the dots over the U.
They are considered to have some medicinal qualities lime blossoms are.
But beyond that, I don't think L wants us to get into any further discussion on names etc.
It is a cool name I think too.

Hi, Lindenblute.
So sorry to hear all the things that happened in the past.
I tried to babblemail you, but couldn't.
I hope you're doing okay, and will be looking for you here.

Hi Jost,
I sent me a test babblemail and it arrived healthy. I hope it's not permanently broken? uh oh.Thanks for thinking about me.
Lindenstrasse in the springtime is covered with petals. It's a beautiful place. Old. Timeless. Safe. Sweet.
(((Lindenstrasse)))

Babblemail didn't work tonight, Lindenblute. Probably a temporary glitch. Maybe it takes a day or two to record a new name. Tomorrow, I'll try again.
Lindenstrasse sounds beautiful, like your name. What a great place to have been.
Try to get good sleep, and I will, too.
It's good to see you here.

"Ich weiss nicht was soll es bedeuten, dass ich so traurig bin..."
Sounds so lovely sung, it's easy to forget to translate...

I've been listening to Schubert Lieder a lot. I have a few recordings that are absolutely-- perfect (for me, for now)
Dietrich Fischer Dieskau singing "Winterreise" and Schwanengesang. "Anne Sofie von Otter Schubert Lieder". And I have a soprano too- Kathleen Battle, perhaps.
I too forget to listen to the words. Usually the tune is enough. Der Erlkoenig- that's enough to scare me. That's a Halloween song. Gets to the depths of my anxiety. oh boy.

There was one particular version of "Florian's Aria" that would have me in quite a state. I somehow imagined the immense possibilities and tragedies of life all compressed in the rushing building sounds, up to 'ein engel'. All that youthful hope, loss, injustice, men killed in wars.
