This Board is Consuming

Posted by Joan797 on August 28, 2006, at 5:48:45

Everytime I notice the other boards getting quiet all I have to do is come here to admin and find out that the reason is that there is some turmoil here that is consuming everyone's time and efforts.

Too bad, really.
But it does seem to be human nature.

I wish I was better at separating the me who finds these boards a place of comfort, support and interaction and the me that feels disrupted, unsettled and very guarded about posting when certain subjects are brought up (in particular) at Adm. I’ve tried and it’s very difficult for me - it does effect how and what I post on other boards here. I'm responsible for how I feel but there is a catalyst.

Pro or Con, I wish there were more "active" input from Dr. Bob.

And I'm trying so hard to do just that......problem is, I have no life. Sad, but true. And coming here was my only internet joy left. God knows the e-mails and offline yahoo messages have ceased existence.

I don't want to face real life. But maybe this is a true sign. Who knows.

~~~ I have come to understand my internet interactions as important and are not necessarily a "pathological" thing - I do think at one time, for me, they were too much of a diversion and yes, an excuse. I think internet interactions can have a place that's okay. I think, in general, I'm better with private emails and boards than public - I'm slowing coming to that conclusion.
Best to you,
G
lol.
(((((Joan)))))
This too shall pass. I find the boards vary seasonally. Summer for the northern hemisphere tends to lead to a reduction in posts. But yeah, admin upheavals play a role too ;-)
Joan,
I don't have much of a life so you're not alone. I go through the day finding different ways to just fritter away time. I shuttle between the computer and TV mostly. Sometimes I'll go for a walk down the hall or peek out the back door.
Actually, when I'm not drinking I get out more. Lactimal and Klonopin seem to be a good mix for me - as long as I don't drink. But even when I get out, any *enjoyment* seems contrived.
On a side note. The administration board is easier than the social board on me. Perhaps, this is where I socialize until the "let's keep it administrative" eviction notice arrives.
Verne
