First, I fully understand that PB is not a democracy. However, I see these ongoing civility debates a bit disturbing. There are 3 schools of thought here as there are in society in general:
1) Those who simply don't care
2) Those who prefer honesty and open dialogue over censorship, even when they sometimes have to hear what they would rather not hear.
3) Those who feel it is their right to be "protected" from exposure to that which they do not want. Unfortunately, the list of possible protected areas is endless; this is why the civility debate rages on. And just as in our current socio-political system, where does it stop? How many freedoms do we allow ourselves to abridge before we all suffocate?PB is a societal microcosm. It matters not that it's mainly populated with mental health consumers.

The blockings have beome more moderate and appropriate since the new maths came in. It wasn't good to keep doubling the block.
