I honestly tried to be civil

But I'm not sure I succeeded. I'll admit I was following the letter more than the spirit of the guidelines, but that seems to be what a lot of people do here, especially under circumstances such as yesterday's, so I'm not sure that it's wrong to do.

I think I might have been a bit sarcastic. Is no sarcasm allowed for real? That seems kind of strict. I was mostly just trying to keep things lighthearted, and deflect some of the anger in the room.

If I was uncivil, I apologize, and if it's possible, I'd be interested in what you think I should have done differently. Other than not respond, which, interestingly, was my own advice to the board not too long ago.

It depends on the context, but in this case I do think none would've been more civil...

Thanks. That advice isn't bad. :-) Do others have other suggestions?
