Thought i'd make a new thread because things are getting alittle confusing :-o lol
'so' - posted that before he got blocked, he's wrote he's block would be for 6 weeks. (but of course its up to Dr Bob)
Then Dinah blocks 'so'.
I ask Dr Bob how long the block is for... (no answer)
I ask Dinah if she knows how long its for, or if maybe if he's been permanently blocked? -
>The cap is currently at a year. If the year long block is violated, he starts it over at a year.
Now when I read that...I understood it to mean he has been blocked for a year....
However LOL...then I read this by Dinah in another thread...
>P.S. I have no idea how long so is blocked for. The maximum length is one year, I have no idea what factors Dr. Bob is using. That's why I just said "blocked".
Now would I be right in thinking the maxium block for "anyone" is a total of one year. And if "anyone" posts for example, 2 months into that block - then they reset their block and the year starts all over again. Sounds fair to me.
So er..lol..'so' hasnt actually been blocked for 1 year then?..or has he?...how long exactly has he been blocked for?
Sorry to ask the same question again and again... my previous 2 attempts don't seem to be getting anywhere though :-( lol
My first post to Dr Bob seemed to be unattended to. (dr Bob posted below and above it..but not to my thread?)
The second post to Dinah...I understand the slight confusion over that as she was answering the second question I made - I read it to be the length of the block.
Third time lucky? ;-)..How long is 'so' blocked for?
Kind regards
Nick

In reply to Confusion?! so's Block? Dinah / Dr Bob...?, posted by Nickengland on July 22, 2005, at 14:08:51
My answer is I don't know. On the information I have, I would assume six weeks because the last block I remember was two weeks. But Dr. Bob may have additional information I don't have. However, if he does, he may not post the length of the block at all.
I was replying globally, and when I read my answer again, I realized that wasn't really clear.
Sorry for any confusion.
P.S. Dr. Bob usually attends to Admin by doing the easier threads first, and going back to the ones that need a lot of time and attention. Many related threads would fall under that definition, I would think.

Hello Dinah
Thats ok :-)...no need to be sorry - It was interesting to learn about the maxium block length of one year amongst all the confusion anyway lol.
I think I understand why Dr Bob didn't reply to my post now then...
So it could well be the case we never know how long 'so' is blocked for?...or if in this case he/she has been banned even?
To be perfectly honest part of me is just be nosey wanting to know. Also though its because quite alot of chaos was caused and what with the insults.. being more so directed at Dr Bob - this is what I was very curious to know how he would respond with regards to the length of the block or if he may of considered banning him/her from posting altogether.
Like you say he may not post the length of the block at all..this would mean if he had decided to ban him/her from using the site then would I be right in understanding he would not post this information either?
Personally, I feel it would be of benefit to the other members of the board for everyone to know when we should expect him/her back. Otherwise we could be on the lookout for say for example 6 weeks like is assumed...or 6 months..1 year....never?
From reading from certain other posters they felt quite hurt by what 'so' said about them and to them. It would be nice to know where we stand and when if ever we can/could expect to see this person again?
Kind of a sense of security
Its quite obvious I would of thought that he/she definately felt they had "un-finished" business here.
What do you think?
Kind regards
Nick

Dr. Bob doesn't ban people at all. Unless Dr. Bob says differently, I would assume six weeks.

If we was to assume the block was for 6 weeks, why hasnt Dr Bob replied or posted publicly that this is the case? (everyone else i've seen gets blocked has their block time posted) Saying it would be 6 weeks would be no different from anyone else here.
With all due respect you said you don't know how long the block is.
So until we hear differently from Dr Bob himself, we can assume we do not know the length of the block I would of thought.
