Babblemail

Posted by messadivoce on January 15, 2005, at 22:33:24

How do I turn this on? When I registered I chose to leave it off, but now I'm interested in it. Can I really send e-mail to someone not knowing their address, and they receive it without knowing mine? I've looked on the site but can't find info (doesn't mean it's not there, I know). Thanks anybody.

Yes. Go to 'register' (there is a link near the top of the page) and re-register. Then you will be able to change your options to turn Babblemail on.

You can babblemail people by opening one of their posts and following their name in blue. Mine should be blue at the top of this post, for example.

Partlycloudy also passed this on to someone else.

I guess there is stuff in the 'Frequently Asked Questions'.

Given the number of people who post asking how to use Babblemail, it seems to me that the information is too "hidden" to be useful. Can you somehow bring this forward so that people can freely find it?

Thanks,
gg

I still think a link on each page would be helpful. Open is linked on each page. May we pretty please also have a babblemail link?

(and if I'm being dense and overlooked it, please forgive.)

I second gg's request

I spent about an hour once looking for the babblemail instructions and i still couldn't find them. And despite general perceptions to the contrary ;), my research/technical abilities are above average.

This needs to be easier to find. it's a wonderful feature of the site.

Do you have to register as if you're registering for the first time to activate babblemail? Does this mean I have to go back through the quiz?

Nope. Just 'update' your registration. You only need to do the quiz when you register for the first time.
