There is an East Indian grocer near my apartment who is trying to teach me some Punjabi and he always laughs at my pronunciation, I don't think he's being racist, I think I pronounce things differently than he does, and I think it's funny too. There's a world of difference.

Gabbix2,
I am not accusing anyone here, but requesting that Dr. Hsiung make a determination as to the acceptability of the post in relation to the guidlines of the forum.
There are impotant issues in the post in question to me, for I do not see the post as "funny". I feel that these type of things,IMO, can have the potential to arrouse ill-will to the groups that are talked about in the post in question. I also feel put down by these type of things because I am one to be subject to these type of things also and have felt bad in the past when someone used jews in a sterotyped manner.I feel that any type of statenment that has the potential to sterotype a group of people on a mental health forum could be addressed by the moderator as to whether it is acceptable or not and that is why I have made the request. Perhaps in another place these type of things could be acceptable, but I am requesting if they are acceptable here, on a mental health forum where there is diversity among its mambers.
I have Chinese friends and Italian friends and British friends. I do feel bad when I read the post in question because one of the Chinese that I know is a psychiatrist at the University Hospital in Cincinnati. When I consider the post in question, I asked myself if I could show it to him. I do not think that I would want to because IMO, it has the potential to put down those of Chinese decent.

Gabbix2,
I am glad that we have overcome our dispute. I apologise for anything that I may have written and would like to assure you that my intentions are only to have further light put on the ways people can post here so that we could have a more supportive place to be. My requests are only for that and I apologise for any thing that has come out of my requests here. I look at our discussion here as an example of that, for now I believe that we have a better understanding of these things.

Your response definitely helped me see where you were coming from Lou, and I apologize for jumping to conclusions about your intent.
