a question about open

Posted by alexandra_k on October 7, 2004, at 19:46:05

I am a bit technologically challenged at times. I have never participated in a chat room. What happens? I have a username etc. Do you just follow the chat link and if someone is there already then you can talk to them? I just wonder becasue I just get a blank page coming up when I follow the link. I figure that means nobody is there, but how would I know if anyone was there if they hadn't posted anything yet? It doesn't seem to want to let me type in anything. Very confused and technologically challenged :-(

hi, alexandra! you're not technologically challenged..these are good questions. yes, you follow the chat link. i think there's a list on the right-hand side that lists the people that are in the chat room with you at that time, so you will know if there are people there. as for it not letting you post anything, i'm not sure what the problem is..maybe "open" wasn't open yet? maybe someone else can help you with that..i'll test it out myself and let you know if i can post..:)

take care,
amy :)

hi, again,

i just tried it and it worked for me. after clicking on the "chat" link, you come to the chat page.

near the bottom of the page it says "Chat:" and then there's a long horizontal text box where you type your message. did you type your message in there and hit enter?

amy :)
