Lou's request to DR. Hsiung for a modification

Posted by Lou Pilder on September 28, 2004, at 12:00:44

Dr. Hsiung,
I am requesting that you modify the "3-post" rule to 7 posts from the 3 posts.
I feel that I can work with that number of posts,7, but not 3, for 3 is to me too limiting to my ability to express the ideas that I would like to here.
I am willing to have a provision incorperated in the rule if 7 posts are made to be the limiting number.
Lou

Dr. Hsiung,
If you could modify the 3-post rule to a 7-post rule, then I would be willing to make up for the increment by several ways, one of which is:
[...limiting my posting on the other boards while I am posting the 7 posts on a particular board...].
I have studied the situation about the 3-post rule and I have come up with this request for modification of the rule because I think that it could have the potential to be a solution that all could feel comfortable with.

If Lou is happy, I'm happy.

I just assumed that this would be fine with everyone else. Bad assumption, I guess.

Friends,
I have been studying this situation and find the following:
A. Even if there is a 3-post and you must stop posting untill someone else posts something, the potential for the thread to continue will still be there and could continue till the topic closes. I am still recieving emails of posts from a thread that I participated on a year or so ago about Efexxor.
What I also see is that the content of my posting is not at issue, for there are posts that say that the poster likes to read what I post and another wrote that there was merit, (thanks Scott), to the content of the post.
So be it that it could be that it is the form of my writing, or the style of my writing, I propose the following:
Let me post in my manner with a disclaimer by me at the start of my posting that will tell of what the posting will be about before one starts to read them. I feel that this will allow others to ignore the thread that will be forthcomming or to be a participant. If I reach 7 posts before anyone posts in the thread, I will take a recess of 3 hours and if in those 3 hours no one posts a reply, I will consider that no one is interested and not contine even if someone posts a reply after the 3 hour ajournment
Lou

How about = if possible = you put something in the subject line that tells people what it is about? That will save folks the trouble of clicking on something they might not be interested in.

AM,
If that would solve this situation, I could do that.
How would you word the subject line, let's say , if I was going to post about some of the things that I have posted in the past here?
Lou
