i am growing weary of the abuse. i asked a legitimate and far from sarcastic question. i will not be posting follow-up messages to the thread in question, as my posts incite riotous behaviour. thank you in advance, tjm

Dr. Bob:
Despite having checked out of the ludicrous thread earlier today, I am now reading yet another post directed at me in a very desultory light. Would you mind please putting a stop to this? Yours, tjm

i am not certain if this is a dig at me, but i'll give TomG the benefit of the doubt upon penning ``I wish I had a robot's voice coming out of my PC speakers to read the chemist's posts.'' on the one hand, maybe TomG is visually-impaired and a fan of my musings, and lacks the funds/equipment for voice-recognition software. on the other hand, perhaps TomG is implying that i am akin to a robot, lacking human qualities. your call. thanks, tjm

Chemist comes to Babble to share his knowledge, and valuable time to offer free advice, which people ASK FOR, and he is insulted.
People of Babble are lucky to have Chemist, Larry, SLS, Sad Panda, King Vultan, zuegma, ace, KaraS, and others I probably am insulting by not recalling. :-) They are bright, kind, and giving people. We are all in their debt.
Thank you.
Emmy

Emmy,Thanks so much for including me in with the rest of that group. I'm so honored. I think your name should be in there as well (along with many others too numerous to mention).

I am fairly new and have asked chemist for advise once or twice. (I even had the cheek to ask if he(?)is a REAL chemist). Chemist has never spoken down to me or been patronising, or sarcastic in any way. I have been grateful for the factual and concise replies. I have also noted concern in Chemist's posts when reading between the lines.

Hi Chemist. I know it's a lot easier said than done, but please try to ignore the posts you are referring to. Those posts say a lot about the poster who wrote them (phlegm?) and virtually nothing about you. We feel very fortunate to have you here. Remember what Winston Churchill said: "Nothing in life is so exhilirating as to be shot at without result."

hello there, chemist here...i recall that W.C. Fields once asserted that one should always carry a small flagon of whiskey in case one should be bitten by a snake and, most importantly, one should always carry a small snake.....:)......thank you, and all the best, tjm
