Babble Extras and Notifications

Posted by fallsfall on June 29, 2004, at 7:52:19

Two other quick questions:

1. Can we put a link to the Extras page in the FAQ? When I am at someone else's computer I don't have my bookmark so that I can display the whole thread (I love that feature!! Thanks, Dr. Bob).

2. Is there a way to sign up for email notifications on a thread without posting a new message? I often hit the confirm button and THEN think "Gee, I'd like to get notifications when people respond to this thread", or someone else will post something that I'll want to follow. DUH - like this one. I was ready to confirm and just barely remembered to backup and request notifications on follow-ups...

Thanks,
Falls.

It's already in there:

Not currently. But you could post a follow-up just for that purpose...

I've actually been thinking about additional types of notifications. I don't know if you've tried the new RSS news feeds, but they could be adapted to notify you of every new thread. Or posts by a certain poster. Or with a certain word in the subject. Or in a certain thread...
