How do I get out of one thread e-notifications, but not all of them. Also, If I don't remember my password to do this, how can I get it sent to me or a hint so I can make changes?

Each notification should come with a URL that you can go to in order to cancel further notifications from that thread. You can cancel those from certain threads and let those from other threads continue.
