Dr. Bob,
Up until now, I have used the double quotes feature for books, but there are many items other than books that are available at Amazon. For example, we've been discussing a lot of movies over on PSB, and I know that Amazon carries VHS and DVD movies. Should we use double quotes for movies, too?

Great idea, but it won't work now because the server only checks for books. It could potentially check for movies, too, but how would it know if something were a book or a movie? Should it just automatically check for both?
Regarding the movie discussion, do you think it's better just to leave it there or to try to redirect it to Books? Books could expand a little...

Hmmm. . . this could get very confusing because so many books have been made into movies. The double quoted link would have to contain some feature that would distinguish between the two or indicate that the poster was recommending both.

**********************************************Well, right now it seems like more of a social discussion, and it looks as if more posters frequent PSB than PBB. Perhaps you could ask everyone for their opinion or vote on whether they'd like to see PBB expanded to include movies.

Perhaps the procedure could work like this: The poster types the name of the book and/or movie, enclosing it in double quotation marks, just as we do now for books. Then, we'd have to scroll to the bottom of the page where we would find a list of all Amazon items that have that particular title, and we'd have to check those items we are recommending. In many cases, we would have to check several items (for books that have been made into movies, for example).

But how would that come out? Having several items checked? What if you could only check one?

In a post I wrote on the Psych board, I mentioned the movie Lost in Translation. Amazon has the listing for the DVD (as well as one for the CD soundtrack), but I couldn't get the double double quotes system to link to the DVD at amazon. I tried about 5 or 6 different strategies but none worked. Is the double double quotes system only for books? Is there a way to get it to work for movies and music? I know we don't really want to start linking to household products and clothing, but movies and music seem apt.
