i have been keeping the identity of my doctor a secret to those in toronto because i wanted to make sure he had time to see me once a week (pretty frequent by canadian standards!) .... and i was also concerned he would be upset if i referred too many patients without his permission...... but now he tells me that he has space for more patients and i am wondering if i can post my email to anyone in toronto who wants to get in touch with a good doc who will see you right away, see you several times a week, knows more than every doc or poster i've seen combined (and i have great respect for many posters on this board) etc......... i am on parnate + ritalin! ... and all i ask is that when patients suddenly find their quality of life go up miraculous they, from time to time, tell me how cool and generous and wise i am ;)
(it is freakishly bizarre that there are so many crappy doctors out there who you can only see every 1 or 2 months while the real good consultant psychiatrists actually have time to see you right away, hmmmmm)
thank you dr. bob

If it's fine with him, it's fine with me. Thanks for asking, and for trying to help out others,

i encounter real problems with doctors in real life who are just totally apathetic...
me:"how long does it take to get a referral to a psychiatrist"
doctor:"3 months"
me:"suppose i could recommend a doc who was head of the top 2 hospitals, has 6 degrees, etc and could take on patients immediately"
doctor:apathetic change of subjectit's like pearls to swine
when other people see people suffering don't they care at all????

to think that i am making a difference in people's lives really makes it all feel worthwhile
i know maybe you are taking a leap of faith here ? but it means a lot to me and i want you to know that i feel i owe it to you and my doctor and other members of the board to protect people's privacy and i'll do my best to do so (but on the other hand, when people are possibly so sick they despise life, finding help really comes first doesn't it?)
oh and dr. bob a thank you to you too ... without the internet mental health consumers out there to says "your doctor is an idiot, you need to see a pdoc, not a gp" i would still be believing "if paxil doesn't work for you, it's unlikely any other antidepressant will" and god knows what would have become of me
respect to everyone
