Bob- this is absolutley unbelievable.
Slinky was in pain when she wrote this. Maybe you could be a little more sensitive of that.Yeah she put it on the religious board because it seemed to be re: religion. She didn't tell anyone that they should not believe in God.
>>From God, I can't believe in you
Look at that- an "I" statement.>>And all the people that you made in your image
See them fighting in the street
'Cause they can't make opinions meet about GodAn observation made by the writer of the song.
>>The wars you bring, the babes you drown
Those lost at sea and never foundI think the writer's words could be interpreted in numerous ways but I believe that many that are going through this hell of a disease feel such pain that they may feel a complete lack of control. and many people have faith that a god can help them through it. but even the most religous doubt at times. I know what you said about expressing atheist or agnostic views on the Faith Board but would you please consider Slinky's feelings at the time?
No, you didn't PBC her but this is getting out of hand.
You pbc me for saying "jiggly as*" and I was just being social and silly. But some of these other Big Brother slaps on the wrist are ridiculous. Do I make you feel put down? Well I'm sorry. Really. I'm just really pis*ed.I owe a lot to the people on these board for their advice and support. I just think this is a shame.
wow.

Thanks for defending me Chicklet..but I really don't care if i'm pcb'd or if I won millions on the lottery.
It was a song I was playing loud to drown out the noise...I assure you though it has a good melody.

It's great for you to defend Slinky. I'm trying to be sensitive to the feelings of both those who post and those who read posts. This isn't always easy, and I know I'm not perfect. Best wishes,
Bob

...that might be apropos of more than one thread hereabouts. they've been one of my most favorite bands since forever.
oddly, it never occurred to me to consider one man's spiritual crisis expressed in song to be a persecution of any major religion or primary deity.
anyhoo, now i just want to buy their whole back catalogue on CD, since much of their stuff i have is still on (shock, horror) tape.
"I thought I had the whole world in my mouth
I thought I could say what I wanted to say
For a second that thought became a sword in my hand
I could slay any problem that would stand in my way"
