Illicit Drug Use Questions

Posted by Dragonslayer on August 26, 2003, at 16:15:40

Every month or so, a question will be asked, like the one referenced below. I have found it is usually a one time poster - Ask and gone.

Some of these questions are quite involved, example: a *route of delivery* question a while back.
Does the Adm. have a *stand* on this?

My stand has been that as long as it doesn't "facilitate" illegal activities, it's OK. Do you think I should have a different stand? Or that I should think of facilitation differently?

I really just wanted to know how this was looked upon. I don't necessarily disagree with the practice of *no harm - no foul*. For me, personally, I find it a tad inapproiate for a med board, but that's me. The fact that unapproved meds and their discussion are not readily accepted is actually what got me to thinking about how it was with illegal substances.
I think there is probably enough to keep up with here without making another policy. This occurs fairly infrequent and as I said before, more a Ask and Go,(maybe for shock value, maybe a real question) as opposed to huge threads being generated.
Thanks for the answer.

Actually a large number of meds used for mental
illness are not approved of treating mental illness. So called "off label" prescribing.
