In defense of OCDditty

Posted by Lou Pilder on April 7, 2002, at 12:53:01

Fiends;
I believe that we all have a contribution to the people on this board or we wouldn't be posting here. Now OCDditty tried to give his/her contribution but was unable to articulate it in a manner acceptable to the rules of civility here.
But it is obvious,to me, that OCDditty could not adapt to the rules here . Now because he could not adapt does not mean that he did not have valid thought for us. He simply spoke in a "different light". Now it is obvious that he wan't really going to the NAACP to "sue". For everyone knows that the NAACP, or anyone else, can not sue an internet board for the internet board is not a government body. It is only the government that can not deny someone freedom of speech.
I believe that if someon has something to say, that they should be allowed to say it without being banished, for the banishment creates censorship by not allowing the poster to be heard at all.
I am requesting that OCDditty be invited back to conclude his thesis with immunity from blocking and with the stipulation that if what he wanted to say has no value to the posters of the board, that he then be imposed a weeks blocking.
But I believe that we should take that chance, for I believe that he is sincere and can make a valid contribution to the people here.
All I am saying, is give OCditty a chance.
Lou

Lou,

Interesting thoughts! And I agree--except that nobody asked us. Dr. Bob gets to draw the boundaries on his board. Simple as that.

Best,
Zo
