Well, (1) the problem we identified before:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/20020308/msgs/3463.html
is continuing, so I've set up an automatic system to check the server periodically and notify them if it recurs, (2) it's possible that activity elsewhere on the server was redirected to that off-peak time, and (3) some of this site's own administrative jobs (like doing statistics) is scheduled for then, too...

That's hard to know, given how this site's set up, but I tried to estimate once, and came up with about 20 perusers for every poster.
