Just ran across this on the board.
I didn't see it as a putdown. It seemed like a friendly post to me. Am I missing something? Did you read it as sarcastic? If I've missed any explanation of this, I apologize.

I took it as first name Jason, last name Nothing Special. Hmm, did I misinterpret that?

I think so; it reads to me as a friendly complimentary post. Just checking in with Jason and suggesting that he might use his research skills professionally.

I guess I read in a period (.) after "Hi Jason". That makes the difference.

The poster never e-mailed you?
