It seems like you are archiving PSB much more often now. I'd like a little more time in between for the threads to develop.

Yes, the original discussion was at:

And then there was some feedback later:

It would be easy to slow it down a little. What do others think? Should we try that?

Leaving it a little longer might encourage more open conversation. Just my opinion.

I think I am looking for that best of both worlds that I have seen mentioned on this board - the dumping of "stale" threads, but the preservation of newer threads. I have no idea of how difficult that would be technically. However, if I had to choose for PsychoSocialBabble, I would rather see it archive on the "quicker" side than the slower just to keep it fresher - no basis for that, just a personal preference based on the short (one month's presence) I have been hanging around here.

I thought so too, but on the other hand, if you know to check the most recent archives, I like it better than having to scroll down past all the "yesterdays" threads.

I am copying my earlier post (from thread below) here. Would it be possible to delete that one? Somehow it didn't end up in the right thread. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Dr. Bob - I think PSB should be archived less frequently. It's like a "conversation" starts and then is abruptly ended before it has a chance to develop. It happens too often the way it is now. Sure we can go back to the last archived period but it's not the same.
Also, if you post in response to archived posts they can get lost when your response appears in the current period's posts. It might be better if any new responses showed up at the bottom of the new posts.
In general, the less often the posts are archived the better (even more important for psb than pb meds board because that isn't so much about conversation and you can always search archives by med). Another thing that might work is archiving only the top 1/3 of the posts or something like that each time. That way the newer ones aren't archived shortly after being posted, before enough people have seen and responded to them. -mist

I guess when we get to the point that as many people vote for slower as for faster, then we'll be at the right point. :-)
I'll try letting it grow to 75K instead of 50K. And we'll see how that goes. FYI, the other boards are archived at 125K.

I vote for slowing it down.I only put my question in 2 days ago and already it is gone from todays' board. It leads for fewer potential responses.
