Dr. Bob. You seem to have expanded your warnings and blocks to include some people (Marilyn and Leo) who are giving incorrect information. I thought that Marilyn was quoting Leo anyway when she got censored.
But what is interesting to me is that there have been dozens of inaccurate posts. So what made you decide to pick one to block?
I think you're getting into really confusing territory here. How inaccurate does a post have to be to have the poster be censored. I guess you can handle that the same way as civility. Your call.
But, I think that the members of PB do come through when there is an absurd, or totally inaccurate post to set things in balance. I hadn't read that thread, but looking through part of it,there were people who said positive things about effexor and one person even responded to the poster who got very scared by saying, I take effexor, its been great for me...... So in some ways, perhaps I feel you are not giving us enough credit.
Again, it's your call, but I think this "accuracy thing" is going to be interesting to watch.

p.s. why don't you have any students? You said that once.

I learned very early just to trust the group. The thing is, I'm not sure how productive misinformation - > information - > misinformation - > information is, even if "balanced".
BTW, negative experiences - > positive experiences - > negative experiences - > positive experiences is different...

Because I don't have a budget to pay them with? And don't advise them on dissertations or anything?

James here.....
This one bothers me, too. If someone posts information that to totally wrong and then several correct the misinformation does the mean the millions of people who come here will read the whole thread. Hardly. Most seem to read spots and many assume if it is printed it is true, esp. if the poster sounds like they know what they are saying, all the better.
There is nothing wrong with making a mistake here and there, but if every fact is wrong and your tpne harsh then I question your motives.
James
This is the end of the thread.
