'Pacemaker' ion channels

Hi all,

I just came across this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HCN_channel

Hyperpolarisation-activated Cyclic Nucleotide-gated ion channels help maintain the "rhythm" of groups of cells in the CNS and heart. Among others, it seems they play a role in the 4 Hz tonic firing pattern of VTA (Ventral Tegmental Area) dopamine neurons.
