since last october when i got pulled off nuvigil and diazepam, it has been a hard hit to take, i want to fire my doctor i may do that....anyways i've taking b6 and for reason it does seem to help depression, if you google b6 it converts foods, and supplements into serotonin. b12 seems to be an antidepressant fix, but everytime i take b vitamens they make irrtible later at night. Not sure why, it could just be placebo and have nothing to do with them. I'll get frozen and in a really bad mood....have no intrest to google or listen to music, just a bad irrtible mood. Anyways but i wanted b12 has some antidepressant properties, b6 converts food and supplementst serotonin, but watch out for b6 - if you ttake moroe than 500mg there is risk of nerve damage. Maximum to take of b6 should be 250mg to prevent risk of nerve damage. They both have a small antidepressant effect, but it's mostly giving you energy, and there is proability they can cause irrtibility. But b12 shots are a good remedy for depression and low energy

b12 shots monthly could be a good add on treatment for depression. b12 is more energy and mood boost, and there's no limit on how much you take unlike b6 causing nerve alteration at doses 500-1000mg.

I almost always take doses that traditional mediciners wouldnt deem toxic and I have done well. Maybe the dose is too high?

they have b6 in 500mg stregth, but im just quoting from what i read, 500-above can be risky for nerve damage or alteration. I actually have 500mg strength, then i read 1000mg is linked to nerve damage. So i split the tablet in half and take 250mg. But for some wierd reason when i take alot of b vitimens i get irrtible later at night, ill just be in really bad mood. That could just be placeobo effect. But b6 is synthiesis mechanism to convert serotonin and other nuerotransmitters

500mg is the maximum they have in a tablet. Most b6 supplement tablets are below 250mg, they have 100mg tablets, 250mg, 50mg etc....so i would avoid the maximum dose because anything beyound 500mg is risky

How are the vitamins formulated? In other words, how natural or digestible are they? Some simple formulations are toxic, yet some more complex and absorbable can hav psychiatric side effects, in some people. (The term "methylated" is part of that discussion, but may not apply to what is being discussed here.)

I take less than 50mg of B6 (P5P). Its not about boosting single nutrients to absurdity. It is about getting broad coverage. There are several nutrients involved in Serotonin synthesis and depression.

yeah, alot of the b-complex is synthesis for nuerotransmitters. b6 is just one, there are many others. B6 helps with serotonin, mainly. b12 has more energy antidepressant effects

I have to cut my B supplements in half because they give me headaches, but they also help my fatigue so its a balance. I have tried a high B12 dose and it makes me agitated.
B6 is involved in a lot of things but you do need to be careful with the dose.
I took a high dose of niacin and I felt great for one day...and then it never returned.
In what ways does B6 and separately B12 help you vs the agitation?
