Microdosing!

MICRODOSING See Professor JAMES FADIMAN on You Tube.

Those with depression do remarkably well. Better than SSRIs and those taking them usually wean off. Those with anxiety and depression also do great! (Bipolar patients and those with schizophrenia may cause further harm to themselves. And those with anxiety alone; it may make you more aware of your anxiety).

Interesting...I assume you are talking about microdosing psychedelics?

Cannabis can have some psychedelic effects at certain doses. I have found that cannabis increases my understanding of my thought processes and hence forced me to mentally confront issues that I have subconsciously avoided. Along with that confrontation, it has allowed me to forgive myself for not having the answers to those issues / problems. Not to get all 'new age' but I would say it allows a 'third eye' to be opened whereby I made aware of realities outside myself and hence see my problems in a new perspective.

Sorry to say but it did f-all for me. Neither did dosing normally. This was with 1P-LSD.

Do you mean it did nothing for you, or that it did nothing for you therapeutically?

Microdosing had no effect either way. Dosing had the following effects:

- raised anxiety
- raised social anxiety
- increased my pure OCD
- improved energy perhaps 30%
- decreased ability to think "straight"/analytically ~ 70%
- decreased my inattentive ADD ~ 50% - I was able to watch a movie all the way through for the first time in literally years.

Hmm. I wonder what differences there are between LSD and 1P-LSD. The problem too with some of the designer drugs is that you may not be getting what you actually purchased. Same goes with MDMA.

According to Wikipedia 1P-LSD is unable to bind go 5-ht2a receptors. This could result in significant differences in its efficacy on PDSD and/or OCD symptoms.

Good question. Anecdotal reports from https://www.reddit.com/r/1P_LSD/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/microdosing/ have that AD's significantly reduce the effect of 1P-LSD (and LSD). And that 1P-LSD is not as potent as LSD. Some people put it at 80% potency, others more like 50% of LSD's potency.

Yes, I have read this before. In animals, for example, serotonergic antidepressants reduce the 'head twitch' response to LSD and other psychedelics. It's a bit counterintuitive, as you would think a serotonin drug would enhance a serotonin agonist.

I think part of the mechanism of SSRIs is to downregulate or desensitize the 5-ht2 receptor system. However, LSD is also a non-specific dopamine agonist and this effect might still be in play if somebody is taking an SSRI.

Lots of Functional Medicine and Bio-hacking Podcasts out there with episodes on micro-dosing (or dosing) various psychedelics including psilocybin, LSD and MDMA, etc. e.g. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/are-psychedelics-new-wonder-drug-for-mental-illness/id1382804627?i=1000435133442

There is a company who won fast-track status from the FDA for a clinical trial in psilocybin therapy for treatment-resistant depression. Psilocybin, being a natural product, cannot be patented, but this company has patented its production process.

The idea seems to be to (eventually) gain approval to administer these in a clinical setting where "set and setting" are controlled.
