So ive asked for doxycycline to my pdoc Bleauberry

Posted by Jeroen on June 29, 2018, at 11:38:46

im still taking CBD from hemp from cibdol

but a low dose, i requested medical CBD but the legal pharmacy in the netherlands was very rude to me in the email, they say it can worsen psychosis

so now my only option is doxycycline in treating this occult infection or lyme or whatever evil disease this is.

I just came across an article that might help with the initial herx heimer reaction, the severe bacteria DIE OFF reaction.

I need to be prepared for 3 hellish days atleast.

http://www.treatlyme.net/guide/herxheimer-die-off-reaction-inflammation-run-amok

The symptoms of a die-off reaction are generally a worsening of the underlying symptoms of Lyme disease and its associated infections. A majority of Lyme disease symptoms are actually excess inflammatory cytokine symptoms. So in a die-off reaction there is a worsening of many Lyme disease symptoms including: fatigue, brain-fog, muscle and nerve pain, chills and sweats, and/or memory and thinking.

im scared of extreme paranoia, insanity, severe depression herx heimer, panick attacks, heart racing with doxyccyline, i should not even attempt but i only respond to anti biotics they remove my psychosis eliminate all schizophrenic symptoms

a schizophrenia/lyme nuke (lyme atomic bomb) lets say. :s

Hey you are doing the best you can do under the circumstances so keep fighting the good fight.
If Doxy sparks a Herx with you then that is rather solid diagnostic confirmation. But I'm pretty sure you already know that.
I wish a Herx was 3 days. If you stop taking Doxy and clear out, then yeah, it should be gone in 3 days. But if you keep taking the medicine without a break, the Herx can go on for weeks. It all depends on how deep the infection is. A milder infection is a short Herx. A heavier infection is a long Herx.
Question for you....can you get raw herbs? To make teas with? Custom tea? Not pills. Just raw herbs. You wouldn't need a lot of quantity but probably 6-12 different herbs for the tea. Just curious is there is any way you could do that?

Hi Bleauberry, this will be the ultimate fight against this evil disease.

I need to be prepared for a possible serious herx heimer reaction, it will be my first exposure to doxycycline, just hoping i will get better after 3 days...

Can you advice what precautions to take, a herx in this case is possible, is doxycycline different then minocycline?

Hi J,

So, did you actually get a prescription for doxycycline? What was the reason for the doctor prescribing it?

How to avoid a Herxheimer reaction, or how to minimize one so that you can survive it without going crazy:

Do the pulsing method. Basically what that means is you don't take the antibiotic every day. You can be flexible. Some examples...3 days on, 2 days off; 2 days on, 3 days off; 4 days on, 3 days off.

The pulsing method accomplishes several things:
1. It gives your body some time off to catch up and clean out death and debris of dead organisms.
2. Lyme bacteria are slow growing so taking a few days off does not slow down recovery.
3. Pulsing makes the antibiotics more effective and can generate harsh Herxheimer reactions. That's why it's good to take some days off to rest and clean out. The bacteria are smart. They go into hiding when under threat. And then your antibiotic doesn't work because they're hiding. When you take days off, the bacteria sense safety and they come out. And then you nuke them again. It's sort of like peeling layers of an onion. One at a time.

I'm starting to wonder if I am only well if I am on antibiotics. ??? it seems that might be. Maybe. Maybe not. I'm pretty stable and fairly normal, certainly not depressed or treatment-resistant or anything like I used to be, when I'm on antibiotics. But things can so south when I'm off. I recently stopped one of them. So we'll see.

Hi J,

The best thing you can do to avoid worsened symptoms when taking doxycycline is not to assume that any of your symptoms actually will get worse. It's common for people on doxycycline to have no side effects, or just nausea. Assuming that you're going to get really ill on it may be a self-fulfilling prophecy. The belief that you'll feel awful on it will make you anxious and that can make your symptoms much worse.

thanks Ed

Often, if that happens, it would be useful to switch to a different antipsychotic. What does your psychiatrist say about this?

Jereon you are doing good. You are open minded. You are willing to try things. You are asking questions. You are thinking of strategies. These are all good signs!

As you know, the craziness that happens sometimes is most likely the die-off effect, commonly called the Herx. The only way to handle that in your situation is to stop and wait a couple days before resuming again. That is a common strategy with Lymies like me. :-)

Sure wish you could get some herbs.

Do the best you can with what you've got. That's the best that any of us can do. If you ask me, you are doing a lot more with the little bit that you've got, than another patient who has a ton of options but is doing very little with it all.

Even just the few times you've tried antibiotics, I can tell, as an outsider, that you sound better today than you did 5 years ago, 10 years ago. You've made progress.

Hi J :)

Didn't the gambling start long before Abilify? I thought you did it a lot, even years ago?

>also is CBD safe with doxycycline

Yes it should be fine. Not heard mention of any problems.

Glad you hear you thinking of new ideas. When do you start doxycycline?

Hi J,

You should take it during or immediately after a meal, with a full glass of water. Don't take it at bedtime.

Don't take it on an empty stomach, it can cause nausea.

Good luck :)

Hi J,

Yes, you can take it a few hours before bed, that's fine. You don't take doxycycline just before getting into bed because it's not to be taken while lying down - this is because it can irritate the oesophagus.

thanks Ed
