Stopping Luvox

Posted by former poster on July 10, 2016, at 15:08:26

Luvox has had an amazing effect on depression, anxiety but the physical side effects are just unbearable. I was getting headaches nausea, extreme fatigue. All I want to do is sleep yet Lovox makes me wake up too early. Ive been off Luvox for 2 weeks and I have not had a full erection since stopping. One good side effect was it had a Viagra effect on me. Worried I may have damaged my reproductive organs with this drug.

I don't think it is damaging your reproductive organs..

Maybe it's time to call the psychiatric facility and hear with them if they have some ideas what you can take instead, cause if it was amazing for depression and anxiety, it could be a really bad idea to just get off it without having something to take as a relief to your anxiety and depression..

Think back to before luvox and how it was then..

Kind regards / J :-)

I have been trying to get an appointment with my psychiatrist for over 4 months. Now I was just informed that he has retired. No one will replace him. That is the situation where I live. My GP has reluctantly been refilling most everything that I need. The psychiatric field seems to be collapsing. Waiting months for the phone to ring with a referral for a new psychiatrist.. I've had an aortic aneurysm for decades and take a beta blocker to keep the valve pumping smooth. I'm worried because I get some arrhythmia and chest pressure after taking a dose of fluvoxamine.
What can I do now?

I the chest pain and arrhythmia comes after taking fluvoxamine, then i think that it's high anxiety...
I'm not sure, and i can't be, but it sounds like it.

Have you some options?
Like checking yourself in to a clinic or something, cause i get a little worried for you to be honest.

What do you have more to take in regards to medications?

Do you have some bensodiazepines til you get an appointment?

Be strong and keep asking me questions, i will answer every one as good as i can.

You are a strong person! i an feel that.

But i don't know what tips i can tell you but please ask me something and i will answer. :-)

You're not alone!

Thanks jonhed. I have some clonazepam I can take until I see the therapist. I really didn't want to go back up on the higher dose again. I have also increased my beta blocker to smooth out my heartbeat.
It's so disappointing to have to exchange mental health for side effects. I don't mind the nausea and headache as much as the fatigue and lack of motivation.
