I've been looking at old threads/posts about Nardil side effects, euphoria, AD effects etc. I'm a bit confused. Sorry if this is old news.
I'm on day four of 45mg per day. My questions:
1) What are the usual side effects and when do they arise? I understand everyone is different.
2) How long should I stay at 45mg with no noticeable difference in symptoms?
3) When does the famous temporary euphoria hit? How long does it usually last?
4) When do Nardil's AD effects usually occur?
5) What's the best way to dose? My instructions say "1 tablet three times daily". I noticed some say they dose all at once in the morning. Is this because of insomnia or some other reason?
Thanks for any replies,
Jade

Insomnia (same time), trouble peeing (after 3 weeks). Potentially psychosis. Also weight gain. Anorgasmia potentiallyand/ or other Sexual side effects.

(3 weeks, when it kicks in). It lasts a few weeks i think.

The insomnia will probably hit no matter ifyou take it in the morning or at night. MAO is irreversibly inhibited. That fact doesnt change much over 24 hours. I would choose the morning, because over the night, your kidneys arent flushed with liquids.

> JadeWelcome:) Dont go off the 5mg Zyprexa when and if psychosis hits, you will probably need 10. I cant tell you for sure if you will be able to continue Nardil or if you will be forced to quit.
Just keep in mind to continue the 5mg and go to 10mg if needed. If at 10mg you are still psychotic i would quit.

Thanks Lamdage for your reply. I think you are right about the Zyprexa. My therapist agrees with your thoughts on "staying the course". I want to change my benzo from Klonopin to Xanax or Valium, and change my AP to one that is more weight friendly. However, I'm gonna hold off on both of these changes until I see how I do on Nardil.
If I (or anyone close to me) suspects I may be headed for psychosis I will immediately increase my Zyprexa or add another AP. I will talk to my pdoc about how to handle this at my next appt.
Thanks again,
Jade :)

The drugs combined could cause death by stroke or heart issues. This is all because he effects of the drugs are magnified when combined exponentially. There could be a heartache tonight, I know.

> LouFriends,
Be not deceived. The combination of these drugs could cause sudden death. This is all because the heart has a complex electrical system that keeps the heart beating. These drugs in combination or even alone could cause that complex electrical system to short out which could cause the heart to speed up or slow down or to stop. This is all allowed to be promoted by Mr. Hsiung with impunity which could seriously mislead you to think that these drugs are safer than they really are. And how many deaths will it take before the drugs are understood by you to be able to stop the beating of your heart.

Thanks Lamdage. I'm a bit scared but if Nardil works for me it will be worth it :)

I believe I trialed it once but cant remember why I d/c'd it. I never did very well on SSRI's but I know a lot of people do.

Brintellix is not a SRI. Viibryd is. There are other differences as well. It is hard to know what specifically was responsible for your severe reaction to Brintellix.

It sucks. I hope Viibryd ends up being a med that benefits you Lamdage.

Yeah you need to be careful with these meds. Thats for sure. Maybe the next generation of meds is safer.

I just dropped the script off at the pharmacy. They need 14 days to import Viibryd and that in todays globalized world...
But hey, after my failed Cannabidiol trial i can use those 2 weeks to stabilize. Stressors made me (pre)psychotic in the past couple of days. When i trial Viibryd i should be stable on my APs.
I think two weeks wait are ok considering that.

> I think two weeks wait are ok considering that.Did you end up reducing any of your AP's? I don't think so but maybe I'm missing something. If not, that's concerning considering the amount of AP's your presently taking. Whatever your stressors are I hope you can manage them and overcome those pre-psychotic symptoms. I feel for ya... that's tough :(
Take care of yourself while you are waiting for the Viibryd.

>No but to offset the Cannabidiol induced anxiety i took more Zyprexa that one day. If i do that and i dont take more the following days i usually end up prepsychotic easily. With or without stressor. Maybe some kind of rebound or what not.
