been trying 10mgdoxepin with 10mg Ambien
my pdoc won't prescribe the 15mg of ambien that i require to sleep
this is all so stupid and i get hung over from the doxepin
i was hoping to fall asleep in a more mild way
sleep has always been a problem for me even as a child
i need something to put me to sleep
i usually wake up in the night and pee, talk to the cat or the wall and then go back to sleep and this is fine
the problem is that i want to stop taking ambien completely but it is the cleanest (as far as getting up in the morning) of any sleeping med i have tried
however, i ingest huge amounts of food after i take ambien
the weight i have gained on meds is too much and my knees and feet are feeling it
and it's affecting my mobility overall
i'm 5ft4 and almost 180 pounds
what happens with the ambien
what is the process that urges the eating of so much ?

er,
You wrote,[...I take sleeping drugs that have made me obese...what is the process that causes the urge to eat...?].
It has been revealed to me what that process is. It is an old process that beguiled the human race since the foundation of the world. There is a Great Deception. The deception is founded on a lie. I am prevented from posting this Great Deception here due to the prohibitions to me by Mr. Hsiung.
But remember the plants. They can grow toward the light and can die when the light is removed. This Light that you could grow to is The Light of Life as in The Beginning the Light was there at all times. But they moved away from the light, further and further, until they were in darkness and killed their own brother.( Am I my brother's keeper? let the reader understand).
And you can read it in the morning papers, hear it on the radio. People are killing people, they know not which way to go.
But the process is to return to The Light, The Light of Life and not walk in darkness. And when I had an encounter with a Rider on a white horse, He said to me, "I am the Light of the World. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have The Light of Life."

Ambien gave me a clean sleep. It never gave me the munchies (Remeron did), but it frequently caused suicidal ideation. I quit doxepin because of the hangovers. Have you tried trazodone? It gave me hangovers, but some people really like it as a sleep aid.
Unmodified potato starch helps my sleep a lot. It's a resistant starch, so it acts as a prebiotic. It can lower blood glucose levels. I dream a lot when I take it, so it must be promoting deep sleep. I didn't dream much when I was on Ambien or Ativan.

You're welcome. It's best to start with a low dose -- maybe 1/2 teaspoon -- and increase your dose every few days. This gives your gut a chance to get used to it gradually. Most people take 1 or 2 tablespoons. Some take as much as 4 tablespoons. And you can take it several hours before bedtime, since it needs to reach your large intestine before it really goes to work.
