Is this Anti-depressant Poop Out? Please Help

Posted by babbler20 on August 27, 2015, at 20:54:46

HI,

Two months ago, I started to get really fatigued and began sleeping really well for 4 days in a row which has never happened. Next, I had the chills for about 5 days and a major increase in anxiety. The next week I became completely unable to sleep more than a few hours a night and up until now I can't even get 6 hours of sleep a night. Before starting wellbutrin, I would get 6 hours total 4 nights a week. There are two theroies that I have. One, I take a 1/4 of a wellbutrin every morning and for the last two weeks of a prescription that lasted 3 months, For the last couple weeks of the prescription I was taking pills that may have been split open for a a couple months or more. Do you think my wellbutrin basically degraded because it was split open so long or do you think I'm just going through Wellbutrin poop out? Please help!!

no a pill thats been split, i used to take wellbutrin xl in split form because of the anxiety it gave me, i was taking 300mg XL tablets and i would split them, and eventually discontinued wellbutrin, but that was all the way in 04, wellbutrin is known vary well to cause anxiety in some people, it's activating for some and improves energy and mental functioning, but also it can make you feel your on edge all the time.......ask your doctor for a lower strength pill form, i mean......it's vary unlikely that bupropion would degrade by being exposed to oxygen, it's in a chemical form designed to last for about 2 years, usually there's expiration dates......

ask your doctor for lower strength, wellbutrin can sky rocket noradrenaline and make you on fire with anxiety, it all depends on the person's nuero structure

Was it an extended release formulation? What is the dose you take in mg?

Ive been taking a 1/4 of the 75 mg immediate release wellbutrin. The withdrawal effects that I was feeling while still on it were exactly the same as the withdrawal effects I experienced when I once stopped taking it. The last time, I got back on it after 5 days and it took a month for me to recover. Any ideas what may be going on? Is it possible that the humidity in the air in the summer is rapidly degrading the cut pills?

im not 100% sure, but a pill could be exposed to water and still be able to work fine......

but 1/4 of wellbutrin on 75mg is 18.75mg, that is vary low .... but maybe a drug is the system and even if it's not at the optimal effect, it's still in the system, and then even when a tiny tiny dose is withdrawn it will create some withdrawl effect......but i don't think it would be bad because of the drug's low amount in the blood stream......

you may want to task about a different med, if wellbutrin makes you anxious even at 75mg, that may be a sign your nuero structure is more prone to have norepinephrine anxiety......from bupropion.....

there's others that are slightly similar to wellbutrin like effexor and ensam......and also provigil but it's expensive

maybe ask about the extended release? there's 2 of them, there's the SR form which you take twice daily, and the XL form which is only once......it releases it 3 times, maybe you would do well on wellbutrin xl 150MG, each coating on the pill would have 50mg of bupropion.....and if it's too much you can split it in half....

What sort of withdrawal effects are you experiencing while still on it?

The way immediate release pills are made, humidity shouldn't affect their viability.
