Hello,
I am taking a low dose fluoxetine for its stimulating effect, .25 or 5 mg /day. it is a very low dose but I feel the effects, a mild stimulation.I can´t tolerate higher doses due to it increases tinnitus. The problem at this low dose is that every morning I wake up with mild palpitations. I wake up before the clock alarm. During the day i do not feel this effect. I am not sure if it rises blood rpessure, I will have to check.
What can I do? Will this pass or is it a serious problem?. I have been taking fluoxetine at these small doses for about two or three weeks.

Yes, maybe Prozac is not for me, but others are no better. At least with Prozac I feel some activation and resilience. I do not take it for extreme depression. Besides, it is cheap and convenient for its half life, too bad there are always side effects.

Never tried Ritalin. Dr gave me modafinil. As I also have side effects I asked if there were other stimulants and he said no, so I think he is not willing to prescribe anything apart from modafinil.
Why Seroquel (quetiapine)?

sometimes, AP/AAP drugs are mixed with stimulants. I know a woman who failed on most everything, until seroquel at night and Adderall in the AM. Sounds terrible, I know, like some early 1960s cocktail or something. Thing is..
...it worked. And still works. From what little I've read on the subject, docs who Rx those combos like to use lower potency AP/AAP drugs with the stimulant. Plus, Seroquel has some anti-anxiety, anti-depressant effects on its own. Some AP/AAP drugs can also help depression, but there's a lot of data on seroquel (of course, a lot of money went into producing that data, lol).
I dunno. I hope modafanil works for you. That's probably better, in a lot of respects, than traditional stimulants or many (most?) antidepressants.
Good luck!
