ok .. just got out of pdoc and she wants to try Saphris.
we discussed Latuda and i mentioned to her i wasn't that interested in trying that one as it didn't have a great track record.i also mentioned the shot and zyprexa zydis....
after talking, i'm going to try Saphris first. since there is no generic ins. (HOPEFULLY) will cover this one.
if not then we can try zyprexa zydis.i know that Saphris was talked about a lot but i can't remember how far back. gonna check archives to see what thoughts were about it.
but i'm going to get my rx now.******************************
But my concern was since i just took 5mg zyprexa last night will there be any issue of me going directly onto Saphris? or should i try a night without anything?thanks for input.

There shouldn't be any issue.

You don't need to.

A couple of years ago I was switched from Risperdal directly to Saphris withouta problem. You should be fine making the switch as 5 mg isn't a high dose of Zyprexa.

Yes, I knew that. It also comes in non-flavored form.
Saphris made me sleepy the first night I took it. Slept like a baby. Just a heads up.

Thought you didn't have any brand zyprexa. How did you take it last night? Why did you quit the aurobindo last time? Weight gain? I have actually been losing weight on teva zyprexa. I'm at 15mg, seems to be working. Maybe if you just give it time on aurobindo it would work eventually?

pdoc called in script for 3 5mg pills. cost me $51 bucks.
i quit aurobindo.... i think that was the one that gave me headaches and nausea, i know i was on that one the longest about 3 weeks.
teva caused me to hallucinate, and the last -sun pharma caused me cognitive blunting. actually it wasn't the weight gain.
the generics didn't seem as weight heavy.
if i were to go back to generic i would have picked the aurobindo.but i think before that i would try the zydis. as there are completely different mfg.'s for that.
Thanks Zy.

I've been reading the thread and wonder that if generic are the same in medication (know fillers are different) but how could they cause such different reactions? Phillipa

usually the binders and fillers are benign, but sometimes they can interact differently with a persons system depending on metabolism and such. also i remember one issue with wellbutrin generic was the enteric coating. it would get into system too fast and not last long or be absorbed at a much higher rate than intended.
for me, i have an obvious issue with Teva, so it is probably specific to the chemical make up of the binders and fillers.
with the others... who knows.i wish i knew more of organic chem....

How is saphris going? I had an initial good response to latuda but it went downhill as I had wicked akathisia even at a tiny dose. I am back to 5mgs of zyprexa but am thinking about saphris but am worried about akathisia. Are you feeling any benefits as opposed to zyprexa?

now my mood seems low. dropped. and slowly dripping. and anxiety is breaking through Saphris BID....
i see my T tomorrow... i'm going to see what she's heard.thing is, i'm starting to gain weight now... or at least i feel a lot heavier.. i haven't stepped on a scale in about a year since i was on zyprxa last... there's just no reason to. i know i haven't lost weight..

I hope you have picked up a bit. How did your visit with your doctor go?
