friend takes 20 mg zyprexa--2000 mg Depakote...always hungry especially sweets unreal..is this unusual

From what I hear not with zyprexa. I wouldn't take this med. But for some it's a great med. Phillipa

I knew someone on a similar combo. He developed diabetes. Scary stuff!

No, not remotely unusual. This is a common and useful combination in bipolar disorder (esp. for manic symptoms). Both meds contribute to weight gain but Zyprexa is usually the worst culprit, especially RE 'carb cravings'.

Not unusual at all. That drug combo is a recipe for Diabetes 2.
